Many sites have tag clouds to help users search more easily - they often feature on web2.0 communicty sites. However, we have analysed their potential and have produced some stunning results using Tag Clouds in the search optimisation process
Challenge: Google can only show a page in its results if the page is in Google’s index.
- The key issue is to dramatically increase the number of new pages for a site in Google’s index particulalry when your content has been penalised as “supplementary”
- Because tag clouds are user generated, new search phrases are created on the site continuously.
- A properly conceived and implemented Tag Cloud system creates sets of pages dynamically as each search phrase is added to the cloud.
- The spiders index these dynamic pages via the Tag Cloud terms. Because there are sets of pages they are considered relevant and contextual and are positioned highly - sometime achieving immediate PR of 3 or above.
- Additionally, because user generated key phrases are continuously added to the site the spiders return more often to index more pages.
An editing suite, to remove offensive terms from public view, should also be included in any Tag Cloud tool.
A Big Easy tag cloud can be integrated into a Big Easy library system from £500 if ordered with the system or form £800 if you require integration with your existing system.
